Mental Health Awareness

Its been said a bit on social media recently, so I thought I'd post here too for fellow coven members.

Your mental health matters. We are only human we are not perfect beings, do not dismiss your thoughts or feelings, always speak up if things get too tough. Yes pray to the lord and lady, but also consider getting help from trained professionals, we only physically live in this lifetime once, lets make the most of it and be the best we can, and enjoy ourselves doing life :)

Blessed be.

Yes, it's also very important to remember Self Care. I facilitated a twitter chat on Tuesday night about the topic of Holiday Self Care. Self care basics that we are all probably aware of are get enough sleep, stay hydrated, exercise, eat healthy, proper hygiene, etc. Self care goes beyond the physical. You must also not forget your emotional, spiritual, and mental wellbeing. It is imperative to intentionally carve out time for self care. It's important all during the year but I decided on my monthly twitter chat this month to focus on Holiday Self Care because with the holidays approaching may bring on additional issues. Loss of loved ones, missing the way things used to be, seasonal depression, etc. These things happen. These are real feelings and you are not alone. Be mindful of ways to prevent burnout. Find shortcuts, don't over schedule, do things that bring you joy, learn to say no and set boundaries. You do not have to do anything you do not want to do. It's totally alright to say no to going too many places. It's ok to let go of traditions that do not bring you happiness. Enjoy starting new ones instead. You do not have to visit and/or buy gifts for anyone you do not want to especially if they are toxic. This year, I'm only celebrating with those who love and support me. I am baking half batches of cookies, staying local, and using more gift bags so I can have more time to do things that I enjoy with the people I enjoy being with. Make time for yourself to do what brings you joy.

Thank you. I go to therapy too. There is nothing wrong with it. It's been very helpful for me.
