I have always had an extremely overactive sacral chakra, but i think i recently burned it out completely as i have been lacking any creative juices whatsoever. Any advise/suggestions?

Burning out a chakra is bad, as you may not be able to use it for quite some time. Try to give it a rest, and treat is as a broken bone: slowly exercise it to the point in which you can use it again. If you can't do it even then, you may have permanent damage and may never be able to use it again. of course, I could be wrong..

From my studies into the chakras, they do not ever burn out. According to the Eastern teachings every living person has chakras, if one 'burned out' and they no longer had one they would not be alive. The chakras simply close, or become obstructed. And it is not permanent. It's up to you to change something so that the energy can flow freely again, because thats what chakras are, they're our main energy centers of the body. Keep in mind though that just because you are creatively blocked doesn't mean that your chakra is blocked. Take a step back from what you're doing creatively, and give it some time. You may find that in a couple weeks give or take, you may feel much more open creatively.

If after some time you really feel that your chakras are the issue, do some studying on them and work with them. Do not simply focus on one chakra when they are a whole system together. Each chakra has different associations but since they are connected to our bodies, by taking care of our bodies we can take care of our chakras. Eat healthy, exercise regularly, and meditate. You will feel better.

Well-said Ruby. The Chakras are a series of places in the body where energy flows together. They are often described as pools of light that swirl or rotate like a spinning wheel. They feed, and are fed by, the system of meridians that run throughout the body. There are often paralells drawn with the circulatory or nervous system. The comparison isn't exact when it comes to mechanics and function but it jonjures the right image as a basis.

Chakras being 'open' or 'closed' is an analogy to the ease with which energy is able to flow into, out of, and through the area. And how that flow is described can be related to particular mental states or emotional issues. For example, if you have a chakra that has large amounts of energy flowing into it but much less flowing out, it might be a reflection of a person dwelling overly much on particular thoughts. Literally pulling them in and holding them in place. Being unable to let go of them.

Conversely having a sense of a chakra feeling drained or weak, as if it is putting out energy far more than it is taking it in, it could be coming from an individual putting out too much of themselves with not enough attention on personal boundaries or Self value.

If a particular chakra is sending signals of feeling weakened or burned out, try spending some time learning about the different aspects that chakra is associated with in a physical, emotional, and also a spiritual level. Then compare that with your activities, emotional states, and habitual thoughts. It acts as a strong personal mirror for locating areas where you might be experiencing stress or otherwise out of balance.

could be telling you to take a break. too much energy in one chakra can be just as bad as too little. try balancing them all, or focusing on the the next one. take a break, then come back. sometimes creativity leaves us and you need a little time away to get the spark back.
