magick is a natural energy that brings natural change by effecting the natural energy surrounding us to attract/repel the desired change. it only effects energy. it is a part of nature, and on the physical plane [the place we live] it is ruled by nature. it cannot contradict nature as a result. humans cannot physically transform into anything by nature [you can have surgery to change, you can exercise or change your diet to bring a physical change, but you cannot wake up one morning, think ''i want to have a tail'' and just grow a tail] since humans cannot physically transform naturally, a spell cannot do this because it would contradict nature. you could look into astral projection, or working with water spirits and mermaid energies, but you will never physically transform into one.

i dont have a bath can it be a shower instead, or a pool?

you cannot become a mermaid, it doesn't matter what you use, it won't work.
