Creating A Coven on SOM
By:
A while back, I read somewhere on the site rules that we may not make anymore covens on Spells of Magic because there are a lot of them. So, I emailed what I think was the proper email for questions to the website owners about advice on starting a coven elsewhere.Unfortunately, I don't believe I've received an answer... but I like this website.

Since then, I've seen at least 3 new covens appear on this site.

So, my comment is, while this is a great website, I think it would even better if I could get some clear information on how to start a coven easily on or off the website. And, whoever wrote the rules should really update them if they haven't been already.

That is all, I love you guys with all of my darkness.

The Site Administrator has determined that there are enough covens already on this site and no new ones can be created. And none have been created in all the years I've been on this site.

You can create a coven somewhere else, such as Discord. But SOM has nothing to do with creating covens on other social media sites. So e-mailing the Site Administrator about starting a coven on another site is unlikely to receive a response from him.

As an aside, there are multiple inactive/dead covers currently on the listing (which is one of the reasons no new ones are allowed-it is wasteful and unnecessary)

There is a process for applying to take over a dead coven and revive it. That could be something to look into. By my memory, there are a couple of requirements that need to be met, but it is do-able.

Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with joining an already active coven and contributing there as most will put people up yo council in pretty short order if they are actively helpful.

As food for thought, as well, consider the active population available. Even though there aren't many active covers, their members are also spread pretty thin so you would be competing for members unless you had a group of friends wanting to join you already. Starting/reviving a coven might be a lonely job for a while.
