Inconsistency

Does being inconsistent in spell casting make me a bad Wiccan or cause my spell's power to weaken? Please tell me. I haven't been casting for a few days, and I tried to cast a rain spell today. Not even a slight drizzle. I'm worried me not casting has something to do with it. Please tell me if I'm right or wrong

It all comes down to intent and understanding the realistic reaches of your influences. While weather spells can help influence specific weather, you cannot control it. You cannot make it snow in the middle of the summer or make it rain during a drought. It is the same as casting a job spell but not actually applying for any jobs. A Job isn't going to just appear, you need to be actively seeking one and your spell will enhance the probability of things going in your favor. Weather spells are very similar. If the outlook for weather in your area is overcast and cloudy, you can cast a spell to influence the chances of rain to be in your favor but you cannot just make it rain.

While some might disagree, and I won't judge on their beliefs, once you accept and understand how magic works (manipulation of energy) your spells will have better intent on a more probably outcome in your favor. Start with developing your confidence in your spell casting. You aren't a "bad Wiccan" for not being consistent. You can change your spells or the manner in how you process them depending on what it is you are seeking and your intentions. As long as you have solid intentions while casting, making them clear and understanding you are manipulating the existing energy (such as the weather) you will find your spells are more satisfying. Check the outlook weather forecast in your area for the next 10 days. You can try to manipulate the energy existing with the weather on a particular day that would be more probable to have rain and cast your spell then.

Good luck!

For one, a weather spell may take time, and it may come true in the coming days or weeks.

Even if the spell doesn't work, though, it isn't because your skills have weakened. Many witches only do spells every few weeks or months. Sometimes spells just don't work, it happens to even the most skilled. Regardless, a break for a few days should have no affect to my knowledge.

Another thing to consider, is that being 'wiccan' is a faith and philosophy. It is not dependant on casting spell every day just like being Christian does not depend on prayer every day. For some it is a goal, for most it is an ideal to aspire to. But in the end it isn't any individual act that defines someone's faith.

Faith is an expression of philosophies, traditions, practices, and lifestyle choices. As far as I am concerned what matters is if you explore and learn about the ideals and philosophies behind the faith, and actively work on integrating those ideas as guidelines towards personal growth. (humble pleb that I am).
