August's Herb of The Month is Chamomile!

Have you worked with this herb before? Do you like the way it smells? Have you tried the tea before? Do you like straight chamomile or blended with something else? There is more than one type of chamomile. Do you prefer a certain kind? What is your favoritehistoricfact about this herb? What attribute do you most associate with this plant? Would you use it in a ritual bath? How about putting in a sachet?

Chamomile isn't my favorite herb, but it sure does smell nice, and though it doesn't taste that good by itself in tea, I plan to make some blends with it in the future! I also have information that is for both Roman AND Germon Chamomile. :)

Folk names include Camomyle, Chamaimelon, Ground Apple, Heermannchen(German Name), Manzanilla (Spanish Name), Maythen, and Whig Plant.
It's associated as masculine, with the planet of sun and element of water, as well as the magick associations of money, sleep, love, and purification. Gamblers sometimes use a handwash infusion of this plant to assure winnings. It is used in sleep and meditation incenses, and an infusion is added to baths to attract love.
Sprinkled around your property it also is said to remove curses and spells cast upon you.

I like the taste of it alright. Though to be fair, I like most teas. I use it for dreamwork. The blend I use has chamomile and lavander in it. I just started testing it out recently so I'm still experimenting with it. I would like to use both chamomile and lavender in bathing rituals as well . Both ingesting it and washing myself in it I hope will set the proper stage for dreamwork effectively.

I will also incorperate bay leaves for Hellenic cleansing since the dreamwork in question will be with the Theoi. I will update this with my results once I feel I have throughly tested it. Also side note for my OCD...I just noticed my type with the original post. That has never happened before. That will bother me even on my death bed. *Eye Twitch*

I love, love, love this herb! I just pick up a pack of the teabags from the store. It's great after a long day (or night) of dealing with angry customers and paperwork. I really like it as a way to unwind and relax. I like mine with some truvia and a cinnamon stick. :D

Chamomile is very relaxing to me. I drink the tea or use it for a hot bath when I have problems sleeping. As I recall, historically it's been used as a healing herb for various things.

Chamomile tea is my favorite! I am not sure which type it is that I use but, it is delicious. I normally put honey and blue gave in it. Of course, not to forget drawing a sigil before I drink it. I will be growingmy own chamomile soon to kick off Ostara.

Nice. I love chamomile as well. Especially with honey in it. Although I have not tried blue gave(or is it agave?), is it good?
