since our ancestry and bloodline is important to most heathens, i figured we should have a thread to politely discuss our ancestry and get to know eachother a little better. who knows, some of us may even be related from way, way up the line. we could also discuss good sources for tracing our blood since some of us, like myself, are having a hard time doing so.

seriously, guys. do not be condescending, rude or insulting based on someones ancestors here. i feel this thread could be a great read, please dont bugger it up.

personally, ive had a hard time tracing my blood, so there isnt anything too notable i'm aware of.

hope your response is more exciting than mine :P

This is a good thread and I'd like to see the replies that some with it. I myself am mostly German and Italian. My ancestry though is all over the place.

My dominant German ancestry descends from the Oldenburg family of nobles in Germany. It died out mostly shortly after WWI.

My Ancestry is hard to exactly track. On my fathers side, my grandfathers mother was born in Norway and we have family there. Going further back my family name is actually from Scotland. My mothers side is all over the place but she is Irish from her mother and Italian from her father. I have wanted to find more about my ancestry but it is hard to figure out where to start and even harder to get records online.
I can see though through my ancestry how it influences what i feel connected to spiritually.

I haven't met any of my family from there but ive come to find that im related to Field Marshal Walther von Brauchitsch.

I'm of Sicilian and Irish irish decent. I don't feel any connection to them nor am I wanting to work with them - in concerns of honouring your ancestry. But that is me.

I'm Russian, all of my family is,got relatives in all Europe from my fathers side, some in Germany,Iceland,Norway,etc..

Dad told me that our family have Varangian/Viking roots without the details. I'm guessing that it was since the Rus' settled in Novgorod.

Now most of the family members I know of are in the far east Russia, khobarovsk, also the place I grew up in until I turned 5~6 and moved to a different country because of the post-communist situation. I visit there every year in the summer and sometimes in the winter.

Well I am English.
My dad is half English half Maltese and most of the women of my mum's family are Scottish and the men English.
My dad's family on the English side are descended from the Norman settlers of 1066 and specifically a noble family who'd been awarded lands after the conquest.
My mum's family are descended from the Stewart family and a Scottish noble family.
I couldn't dig up anything on my Maltese relatives they came to England and joined the army in WW2
