Hi i was going to put up a thread about using my favourite method of astral projection , but i seen that it has been so beautifully described by Sariel. (excellent job).
So heres some astral projection advice instead and another technique that some may find useful.
Some people have some fears of astral projection which hold them back from achieving a successful astral projection such as-

A FEAR OF NEVER BEING ABLE TO COME BACK IN TO THE BODY-

you should never be afraid of this happening as it is automatic.
you will always be able to snap back into your body.
Astral projection is very natrual and in fact there are times when we astral project not realise it and mistake our experiences for vivid dreams.

A FEAR OF BEING ATTACKED ON THE ASTRAL PLANE-

In the astral world there is positive and negative like on this realm. The more you are in a positive frame of mind you will higher the chance of going to somewhere positve. I do not recommend doing an astral projection while angry. I have done that and gone to a not so good place , where there was lower astral beings and my vibrations at the time werent high enough to go on to th higher astral plane to get away.

But have no fear because we are capable of protecting ourselves if we were to find ourselves in a situation like that, by using our will and imagination. I have and it is easy. you can use visualization to create a weapon of light if need be.
But in the first place be positive before the projection to put yourself in a positive place.

THE BUZZING/ FIZZING SENSATION JUST BEFORE A PROJECTION MAY BE DISTRACTING OR SCARY-

Just before an astral projection you may feel a buzzing or fizzing sensation in your body. this can be distracting and for some scary. but have no fear as this is just chakra activity. Do not let it distract you, as fear and distraction may break the relaxed or theta state needed to be able to project.

The rope technique is indeed my favourite and most successful way of doing an astral projection but you may also put your conciousness somewhere else in the room, maybe imagine that you are infront of yourself, really infront of yourself and your physical body is behind you or you can also put your conciousness say on another chair in your room and really imagine how things would look from that perspective to put pressure on your astral body. How would the wall look from that angle?, how would you able to see the door?

GETTING TO RELAX

everyone has their own way of relaxing, i use breathing in on the count of four holding for four, or even one and exhaling on four counts. For astral projection , you do need to relax yourself into an altered state, closing your eyes and relaxing your body 100%.
As a natrual daydreamer (being a pisces) i discovered my own personal way of altering my state for projection. I simply just lay down and creatively visualized myself in an ideal situation. Ie, you can visualize yourself acheiving any goals, becoming rich, on holiday, etc. and really enjoy your visualization, enjoy it as if it were a movie. then when i was relaxed doing that then i did the breathing and managed to leave my body.
You may also use guided meditation cassettes/ cd's

i had a question though, you when you do ap or even do ep. How do know when you have left your body?? I had a friend who helped me out on ap and ep. and i almost have mastered both. But still practicing.

I mean to me it still feels like i am in my body. and its all a dream or day dream you know. I thought i would ask this. Thanks for posting this hecate :)
