I'm tossing around the idea of doing a shielding/shield breaking "class" with folks.
On the shielding side of things, it would be through mail/chat mainly, as I'd have you build a shield intended to keep me out, test your shield, and give you feedback on it and how well it is made as well as what corrections to make. It would be intended as highly interactive.
On the shield breaking side of things, it could be active or passive. I can write an article about it or otherwise give instructions in mail/chat and then have someone test said techniques out on a shield specially built to keep them (and only them) out. The shield would be mainly an "alarm" shield; intended to notify me when it was broken. More complex techniques could be used with more learned individuals or those who've already managed to break/"break" previous shields.
I could go through with either or both at the same time with different folks or the same person depending on what one wanted to learn, however the person would need at least the most basic set of skills; energy manipulation and some degree of energy sensitivity.
I think this is a really wonderful idea. shielding can be such a crucial (but often overlooked) step to a successful and more importantly safe ritual. The only thing I may have against it personally is the "class" implications largely from a legal standpoint so I probably wouldn't want to join in. I do wish you luck in this Neb if you go through with it and can find some people eager to learn.
That's why I called it a "class" rather than a class. For most legal implications I can simply write an article on it and/or provide links, folks can choose to read it or not, then mail me if they want to practice it.
If taken in the strictest sense, the law which prevents the teaching of minors would also prevent anyone from sharing anything of informational value, including simply giving an opinion or providing a link to the minor. So technically this site is (at least in some senses) illegal.
Hehe. I'm glad I left this up. Once I get the house settled I'll seriously start this up. Until then I'll try to write a generalized post on shielding and get into more complex forms of it.
I want to participate! The first spell I ever learned was a ward and I've researched and practiced it a lot more since then. I've never tried something like this directly with another person, and given my background in all-or-nothing when it comes to psychically interacting with people, this will be interesting. I could definitely learn from this.
I think what I'm actually going to do is do a chat on them. I sat for a while thinking about how to write the post and I have around four sentences after two weeks...
I'm much better at being able to talk out and discuss my process than to try to explain it. So I think I'll set up some chat times each week and just talk about shielding and how fantastic it is and how to do different things with it with whomever shows up, then post a log in the forums.
