I told may parents that I converted to a differnt religion(christain to wicca/pagan) I explained to them that we still worship the same God but in different ways. Give them something to read on the subject.

Choose your words carefully. When people hear witch or witchcraft they automaticly think evil, trouble, stay away!

Good luck

you need to tell your parents/guardians if you are under 18, otherwise you don't have to tell anyone. try to sit her down and explain yourself. if she's not religious she probably won't have real objections, but she will have questions due to all the misconceptions surrounding the religion. try getting a book [hopefully your library has some] explaining witchcraft, in case she wants to read into it. tell her how you feel being a witch, what you believe, and what the religion's about.

when i told my mom i was nervous, but she was fine with it, she just made me promise no virgin sacrifices in the back yard lol. little things like that, you need to clear up. tell her there's no devil in the craft, and you don't pray to Satan [unless you're a satanist] tell her about the God and Goddess, how it's a nature based religion, and rather peaceful. of course if you follow a different path, say voodoo for instance, explain it to her. i'm just speaking as the path i'm on. write down some key points if you feel you'll get too nervous to remember them all.

I would tell your mom. I actually just told my mom today that I've been exploring Wicca for a while. She believes in God, but she was also completely fine with it! She's into Halloween too so that was a bonus. I started getting more in depth with the craft a little before Halloween. It's just been in the back corner of my life since I was in 2nd grade, but I didn't fully see it until now. If your family isn't religious then she should understand. Don't drop it on her like a bomb though ha-ha. Honestly, since you asked her that question she may already have a feeling that you could be a witch based on your interest. I don't see any reason why she would be upset with you. It's who you are so don't try and hide yourself away. I've told my friend this COUNTLESS times and still do! If your mom is anything like mine you'll be alright. :)

Yeah when I finally came outta the broom closet I walked on egg shells. My family is Hardcore bible thumping Catholic's, but I approached my mom and told her I was going down a different way of thinking when it came to "God". told her that to me the old way of thinking of god was, "God", in a box. was Get to church early, leave 15mins before mass gets out. Say your rosary EVERY night! but you never really connect with that god. I simply told her this way of still the same god in a sense made way more sense. she didn't take it as well as i had hoped. I had to sit with a priest for 2hrs that thought I was over-run with daemons. So even when you try to set it down nicely, it doesn't always work. lol
