Where To Obtain Holy Water

Holy Water is an extremely powerful tool in spell work. It can be used for spiritual protection and blessing various items or or even rooms in your home. Where do you get it? Can you make it? Let's dive in.

Obtaining Holy Water is relatively easy. You simply go to any Catholic Church and ask for it. That right! It's that simple. Usually you will have to bring your own vessel to carry it in. Why go to a Catholic Church? Because Priests are the ones who bless the water. They have the tools and rites to do so. Why can't you make it yourself? This is due to the fact Priests have been given authority through apostolic succession. What does that mean? It means the Priests have been ordained by Bishops who can be traced back to the beginning of the Church. This gives them the Holy authority to bless the water in the name of God.

So the long answer to a short question would be to just get your Holy Water from a source you know will be pure and help your spell work to the fullest extent.

Peace be with you.

If you don't have a vessel to carry the holy water in, you can always stop by the Church Gift Shop (most churches I've been to have one) and they usually sell you one. If they ask why and you're not comfortable about going into detail, you can always say you're getting some for a friend or family member

A monestary gift shop around here sells holy water yet is currently closed due to Covid. I have not been to Catholic church since young and would feel uneasy asking for water.

''holy water'' is simply blessed water. If you're a Christian witch, I can see why you would go to a priest for holy water, but if not, you can easily make some. Two simple methods is to say a blessing and charge the water with your intention/magick or sprinkle some salt in the water [salt purifies] You can also leave water out in the sun for solar water, in moonlight for lunar water, you could collect rainwater for stormwater. Each water has specific energies associated with how they were collected, but a basic ''holy water'' you would draw a protection symbol [a cross, pentacle, rune] over the surface of the water, maybe ask your deities for blessing, and then charge it with energy/magick. That's it.
