Raise your shaded blade, at each quarter cry: "Shades of darkness I conjure thee, let the shadow descend!". This brings into existence a 20 foot radius sphere of impenetrable darkness centered on the caster's position at the time of casting. The sphere may not be moved.

First, an athame is a black handled blade used to direct and cut energy, so what does ''blackened athame'' mean? You have to colour the blade black too? As for this ''spell'' it is a circle casting ritual that needs an edit. I di not believe shadow is an element, but if you work with it that is your path. This casting is rather incomplete and does not include a way to open the circle when you are finished the ritual. Research basic circle casting and then try this.
