Offerings to Fox spirits

Hello,
I'm new here and have an unusual request and want to know if anyone can help.

Story time. I met my now husband at Techschool in the Airforce around the last months of 2007. I guess he has messed around with or dabbled in the supernatural in his teens and stated i could 'break' down barriers he created for himself by just walking thru (don't know if relitive to this requst but background just in case).Anyways, he I guess messed around in the Astral-world when younger and caught a nine-tailed fox, whom he called Felix. I didn't know much about this stuff except one or two small encounters of sick feelings or shadowy forms, until one night in my dorm room (both hubby and I in the Airforce at separate bases) I swore I saw a fox like shape run across my vision in the mirror in my door. Told hubby about it the next day and he told me about Felix and his pups and he told them to check up on me. It's been over 17 years and my hubby is no longer able to concentrate or focus on himself let alone the Astral-world like he used to but last night I saw a fox-like creature on our bathroom sink when I opened the door for nightly routine. Scared me because I thought it was my cat at first but he's not allowed in our bedroom and it had a longer nose and blue eyes and slightly larger.

I've seen small glimpse of shadows here and there throughout the years. May I'd catch sight of a few tails or Profile of ears and long snout. They/it don't feel malicious when I notice them around. I have gotten tattoos of foxes in respect or them/it but I want to know if there is a way to gift out offerings for continuing to 'check in' or 'watch over' me? I know we send out offerings to the Fae which my hubby has an affinity for (fire fae) and burn some meats with oils and herbs. Should I do something similar for the fox(es)?

I would not advise you to start interacting with a spirit that you don't 100 percent know who or what it is, some spirits enjoy playing tricks on humans and if you don't know what your dealing with you won't know what any warning signs are for trickster spirits like these. In the astral its common to see spirits take the form of animals at least at the "default" level of the astral plane. The area one arrives at when they astral project into the spiritual realm. This place (astral plane) is not an afterlife, it's more like , to say, a waiting room, "neutral territory". And since spirits can read energy it's not even an effort for a spirit to read you and be like "oh this person has a fox spirit that looks like x, y, z, I'll go "check in" on them" and then we start seeing encounters like you have described before, where you said you were scared by what looked like your cat. Fear is a powerful energy to feed off of, as well as "uncomfort". I don't know if your a witch or not so I can't really give you any methods of dealing with this except to not interact. If this really is your husband's spirit friend it should be able to show itself in non scary methods, what you have described sounds too "easy" for it to be a real "felix", and shadowy forms are common for lower spirits not things you want around you or anything. But at the end of the day the choice is yours, I'm only here to give you the suggestion(s) you asked for. I hope you find this useful in some positive way.

Many thanks

It wasn't fear persay, more like I was startled in the fact that there was something there that I didn't expect. Thought it was my cat at first so was confused then understanding that it wasn't anything but the possibility of a fox like form again. No fear in the home when the Fox-looking entity(ies) is around. When something that is negative is in the area I get uncomfortable and nauseous. Like the Night Hag for instance(she'll take energy usually from men during sleep). She doesn't come around very often anymore due to my hubby working 4 hrs away and him coming home on the weekend. I wouldn't call myself a witch exactly. I'm still learning and will make some protection sigils on woven yarn. Idk what exactly these entities are but I do know they are fox-like in their form. They seem to cause small instances of light chaos like the fae I assume. Never really interacted with them this whole time but they will show up and then disappear after a short while. With that said should I just continue as is then and just keep on letting them do their thing or set out something in respect for the visits?

Well, I would begin by learning about them. Their history and context within the culture they came from. Not only does it teach you about their tendencies and personality, along with what they tend to represent or be omens for, but it also honours them as it is a show of respect.

It also gives you something to reflect on internally. Asking yourself what you can learn from them is a good way to understand why they are present. Spirits don't tend to do things 'just because' after-all. Even if it is something as simple as reminding you to allow a little fun and mischief into your likely very structured and practical military life. Or perhaps something more profound, centered on personal transformation and growth.

Truth be told, if this/these spirits have been hanging around for so long and you feel that they are friendly or even happy, then you have already been earning their respect. So you are doing something right. ...Sometimes it is as simple a thing as making an effort to see and recognize their presence. To offer a happy thought in seeing them about and not taking their presence for granted. You are already concerned with wanting to say thank-you. So, you already have been doing just that. I'd say continue on that path. Keep putting effort (even if it is casual effort) into learning about them.

...Maaaaybe leave out a plate of milk if you are so inclined. Milk is always a safe bet. And you don't need a lot, a small little saucer on the altar (if you have one)is enough. The idea isn't 'feeding' them the milk. But of making the effort to prepare it and leave it out 'just for them'. ...The item matters less than the effort and concern you put out. It is about you paying attention to them, their likes, and putting gratitude into action in some small way.

Think of it this way. Say your boyfriend comes home and surprises you with a rose. ...What physical value does it have? It is a nice smelling prickly stick with colored petals on one end. You can't eat it. It can't be used for anything practical, it barely lasts a couple weeks then you have to throw it out and to even -get- that two weeks -you- have to commit effort and care of this thing that's supposed to be a gift! The darn thing costs you effort to even have! And they are damn expensive to boot.

-But!

It means he thought of you in a loving way, without prompting, on his own. He went out of his way to find that rose to protect it from harm on its way to you, all just to give you a physical thing that matches what he feels when he thinks about you. It doesn't say "Here is a thing".

It says "I love you."

And that meaning is what gives it so much meaning and worth. Think of what you want to do in the same way. Think in terms of what you want to express. Not what it 'should' or 'shouldn't' be

As a quick Addendum, I had a chance to do a little searching, and I came across what looks like a pretty good starting point on Kitsune/spirit foxes. Mayhap it will help.

Well. It can be a Kitsune spirit. I would recommend you to search more about these beings and you can offer sake, rice, beans and milk. There are also wild kitsunes, where they can suck the individual's energy, butthey are not exactly jeans, just mischievous. Or it can be a inferior spirit disguising himself as a kitsune, but i dont think that. Try to feel its energy too. Kitsune's energy is dense, but not bad. I would not recommend you to do that since you dont have aknowledge about that beings.
