Full moon spell and blood

So I saw somewhere that doing a spell on the full moon and adding your blood to it makes it more powerful. I was wondering if you should do that or if that is a bad idea. For context, the spell is a love spell and the notes said to do it on the full moon and add your blood if possible to the candles you use in the spell. I'm still knew to all of this so I wanted to ask before I did anything.

Doubting yourself and seeing things in a negative perspective doesn't turn out good towards any ritual or spell casting. The intentions should be pure and straightforward. Using your blood to any spell or ritual dies have a Empowerment adding to whichever you're aiming for. As for the full Moons are gateways to the lower astral realm and thins the veil to add a faster outcome.

There are different ways to increase the energy that a spell or other magical working has available to utilize. One of the most common is the full moon as it is a giant mirror of the sun's rays of solar energy that is reflecting down upon us as we practice our craft in the moon's light whether it is daytime or nighttime for us. This energy can be combined with our own life force in multiple way as we dance, sing/chant, and drum, to raise energy for the casting at hand and foot. One can also add their own personal energy by utilizing the hair, nails, or blood of the caster and/or intended recipient. I suggest not to use one's own blood in conjunction with most magical practice, but instead to use a dagon's blood resin in it's place.

Many Blessing to you on your path,

Katie

Co-vid just happened so I highly recommend you don't use any vital fluids. You would rather have wine and give libations rather than link to an epidemic currently around. If not wine, whatever makes you happy.

There is nothing wrong with using your blood in ritual or casting if you choose to, but whether it is the best option for your spell is up to you.

It's possible that whoever wrote what you saw felt a strong energy when dealing with blood and it felt right to them in their practice, but that won't necessarily be true for everyone, even in the same spell.

A lot of times, it is better to write your own spell to accomplish something, or at least make some modifications to personalize a spell you are following.

I think of it like a recipe. I'm not skilled enough with baking to come up with my own recipe for baking caramel brownies from scratch, but if I have a great recipe that I like for regular brownies, I might modify it a few times until it's what I want it to be.

Spellwork is very similar. You're essentially following a recipe someone else has written, but whether or not it works for you is based on what you put into it. So if you don't feel that putting blood in is right for you, then don't. If you feel like chanting or singing or dancing (as mentioned above) will help, then add that.

There really is no right or wrong with some of these. Practice and spellwork areextremely subjective.

The only thing I will say on using blood isthat, if you choose to do so, be careful of where on your body you pull the blood from and that you are not going too deep.Make sure that whatever tool you are usingis clean and disinfected, and thatyou clean the cut with a good antibiotic and some soap and water afterward. Safety is still important.

I'm personally not a fan of the idea of using my blood in magic myself. Any time I see a spell that calls for the blood of the caster I cringe a bit. Not because blood is gross, but because I don't enjoy the thought of causing myself to bleed.

Blood may be used in spells , though it is not a style of magic by itself. An example of blood being used in spells can include as in the form of a taglock. Can also be used as a power source such as life force, but you still need a working to add to that power source, it does not necessarily make a spell “more powerful” as it is a component. And as others have said you need to be incredibly careful when using blood magic for the physical safety related aspect of blood magic. what makes me "cringe" would be hearing novice witches want a "simple spell" and then think "blood magic is uber powerful because I've seen it used in movies and its really powerful so I'm going to be a blood wizard" As if it's a style of magic such as elemental magick. The thing is simple and spells don’t really go together. But in terms of adding it to a working, if your doing it to add extra power and you don't want to use blood then you could cast the spell before noon and link the spell to the sun, I'm sure there are other methods but that's what I enjoy using, since most people don't have time to track the moon phases , or aren't available when the specific moon phase they would need to use if they were using lunar magic might not be for a number of weeks and that might be too late for when they need the spell to manifest.

What if its menstrual blood? Let's say you put that onto the candles for a love spell. Do you think that would have any greater impact? I'm asking because like OP I am also new to all of this and wondering about adding in menstrual blood to a spell would make it stronger.
