There are numerous workings you can do which do not require candles.

Petitions, sachets, dolls, jar workings and other container workings which do not use candles. I recommend looking into some different types of workings and adapting them if you like.

Candles are not a requirement for spell work.

Magick doesn't necessarily need candles, everything you can do with candles you can do on your own with practice.
If you're looking for a good substitute though I recommend sigil work as it doesn't need much materials at all and you can do it anywhere. You can make active sigils which have the same burst of energy as candles but you can also make passive sigils to release a certain energy over time.

If you want to learn how to make sigils there are some good videos on Youtube.
A really good video about sigils is one made by Hearthwitch. Here's the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O-OQ3TVpOw

There are lots of different ways to cast a spell without using candles. Some of them have already been suggested to you. You might also want to look into Cord and Knot magic which requires nothing more complicated than a piece of string.

It depends on the spell. Is it a candle spell that only requires a candle? You could try and replace it with an electronic candle [unless you need to burn something with the flame] I've been told it works the same. You might also consider using matches or a lighter if you simply need fire. If the spell is basically use the candle for the esthetic or to represent the element of fire, you could use the colour red, a video of fire, even something spicey like a hot pepper. I would review the spell in questions and determin if you even need a candle, and if yes, the overall feel of the spell to see what would be a good replacement. [Heck, you could do the spell in the kitchen and use the stove for fire]

Everyone else has already stated a lot of good information for you. I'd just like to add, in witchcraft it's better if you master working with your own energy before moving on to working with the energies of tools, ingredients, or whatever. You see, because if you master working with your own energy you'll be able to feel your own energy as well, so when you start working with items you'll be able to tell the difference between what's your own energy and the "power boost" from the item. You'll find that without items a witch can still cast a spell , because the source of a spell comes from the witch, but if you have tools , ingredients, or whatever your using but you don't have a witch. Well, then those items are useless. If a spell calls for a candle try to see if you can find exactly what the candle is providing. Is it Fire element symbolize? Well you can use just use a red object. Is the candle used for burning something like a spell petition? Use a lighter (of course be sure to be safe around fire to avoid accidently burning of yourself or things like the carpet). Is the candle for setting the intention? Well you could use music that has no singers, or electrical candles. There the things you often see for like Christmas decorations that plug into the wall or run on a battery. My point is once you figure out what the item is for you'll see why you don't need it to cast the spell.
