Learning stuff

I don’t wanna read books or do a lot of research... is there a way to learn stuff without doing any of that? Or someone to just give me the info I need. I am just lazy and don’t wanna do any work.

In magic, as in life, you can only get out of it what you are willing to put in to it.

Even if someone explains it to you it won't help if you won't do the work.

I give you points for honesty. However, you will get nowhere in life by being lazy. What you put it in is what you get out. If you're not willing to do the necessary work to achieve your goals then you will not reap the reward. Why chase after something if you've no interest in doing the work? You cannot be lazy. Not when you have an abundance of information with just a few clicks. As for someone giving you info, I want you to remember a mentor is a privilege to have, not a right. No one has to teach you and if they did how would you be able to distinguish what is true or false? You need to have your own foundation of knowledge on whatever subject(s) you're attempting to learn. A teacher or mentor is there for you to hone your skills and reinforce what you've already learned; not cradle you from start to finish. If you must go slowly with your learning then do that. Start with reputable articles if you must, and then move on to books or whatever. Pace yourself, but do not be lazy.

Every reputable witch got to be that way by taking years worth of time studying. There are many people willing to guide others along, but not a single witch worth their salt will hold your hand and tell you all of the information. It doesn't help you and it undermines all of the work that they put into their craft, the hours of honest effort. Even if someone were willing to spoon-feed you, you'd have to practice and study to even retain that level of information and apply it to your practice.

I hate to say it, but if you aren't willing to study and work for it, magic might not be for you. True power comes partially from the personal responsibility and dedication to the craft that comes with research, as well as through the practice it takes while studying.

I wouldn't say I am lazy however bogging yourself down with studying and reading can turn you off. Although I love it, I completely understand wanting a short, condensed version of things. So think to yourself if it is laziness, or if you are the kind of person who rather just get to the point. There are lots of articles on here. If you are not a book person, maybe YouTube videos are more your style. I am not exactly sure what you are seeking but there is something for everyone on YouTube. You can also use more intuitive practices like prayer & meditation. Good luck.

You came to this place for a reason, there is a spark of interest there so regardless if you think or feel you are "lazy" and don't want to do the research to learn about the craft, you do have some passion in there and curiosity to learn.

To answer your initial question, no, there is no easy way to learn anything in life other than to try it and study it. But that is not to say that in order to be good at something you must sit down and bury your nose in a book reading about it. Everyone has their own style of learning. Some need to read it in words and absorb the content of the writing. Others need to physically feel what they are doing, to pick up the pen or paintbrush and physically move to understand it. Others need a visual representation, a photo or picture or instructions with symbols. Think back about how well you did in school. What classes did you hate or find boring? What ones did you struggle in because sitting and reading the information was just boring. You probably aren't lazy, you just feel you are because you have probably been told it over and over due to poor grades or failing tests or lack of interest. You aren't lazy. You just haven't found the right means of learning. You know your body and mind best. Instead of reading paragraphs on early Wiccan or circle magic, try Googleand search for "how to make a casting circle" and at the top click on "images". View these first, take in the physical appearance through a photo or visual representation.

Once you can take the concept of that idea and put it into a thought (you can visualize it now since you understand what it looks like) You can click on some photos and they usually have an attached URL. Those will take you to the site the photo is from and generally (mind you being careful of what URL's you are clicking on) there is paragraphs about the photos, sometimes blogs and other means of citing the source. The small paragraph can say a lot and the knowledge you are now gaining.

Studying and research does not have to be one specific way. You are probably already gathering information and learning and don't realize it. Hopefully this will give you some encouragement to keep exploring in the manner that you are comfortable in.

Good luck!
