I did a spell for a cat familiar, and it worked. But what I don't understand is why he's not helping me spell casting. Even something as simple as meditation, he tramples everything in my room. Should I just... kinda neglect him? I've been trying to get him used to the idea of magic, but he's too wild! At this point, I've started to doubt he's even a familiar and just another kitten. If it's a physical cat, neglect should never be an option.
Most physical animals aren't familiars, but may be animal companions, especially when young, cats often aren't interested in sitting around they just want to play. It may be that the animal isn't right for your work space at the moment and needs to mature as an animal first.
If you wanted a familiar, one that can help with your magickal practice and assist spiritually while you work physically, you may want to look into summoning or working to find one that is a suitable match for you.
You do not have a familiar. You have a cat. A familiar is a spirit that aids you in magic. They became physical cats when the Christian Church decided to make owning a black cat part of the signs that a person could be prosecuted for witchcraft. There is a difference between a pet and a familiar.
As the others have said, you have a lively and fun little kitten, but not a Familiar. It's a common mistake that people make. If you'd like to learn more about what Familiars really are I would suggest the following posts to help you out.
There are literally thousands of spells on this site. Many, if not most of them, are not genuine. Anyone can enter a spell here, even if they know nothing about magic. However, there are a lot of us who can point you at good resources to learn about genuine magic if you ask for help.
Thank you for all of your replies. I was wondering if he was my familiar because he looks EXACTLY like what I had drawn(see spell) so I thought the entire spell would be true. I bought him some toys today, but I will look into summoning.
