If we are the only living thing in all of space, then I say it is an awfuly big waste of space. We should use the space to put our trash in. Just start shooting it into outer space including our dead.
I heard a very interesting conspiracy theory a long time ago. At the time I was interested in Cryptozoology. I doubt this actually happened. However there was movie made about this as well. An alien survived the supposed crash at Area 51 and the Americans treated it. The movie was about an interview with the alien and it cuts when the alien appears to be physically distressed and white foam begins coming out of its mouth. The theory continues saying that several years later the U.S. returned the creature(they're called greys I think) and sent a few humans with them. However the humans died from radiation poisoning after several years because the planet had two suns. I really don't believe that theory but I thought you guys might be interested.
How is sending our dead out into outer space disrespectful? I think pumping chemicals into the body and stuffing the holes with cotton is much more disrespectful. Not to mention the then placing the body in a cement tomb 6 feet under the ground and leaving it there not to rot but be persevered so that in 50 or 100 years you can dig them up and there will be little signs of decomp. Graveyards are the biggest waste of space in the US and golf courses are the 2nd.
As for aliens they live amoung us, have you seen some of the "people" alive today? I think Tom Cruse is one, I am not sure if he always was one or if he was switched with one and the real Tom is in hiding somewhere in the universe.
