If you have questions about how this site is set up and works then I'd suggest that you take it up with the Site Owner/Administrator. Petrarca is the one who make all of the rules here on Spells of Magic and he would be the one to clarify what he means when he sets out a rule.

No offense taken. I would like to know if I'm breaking the rules too. I thought what I was doing was ok but yeah.

Strictly speaking you are breaking the rules. One advertisement maybe forgiven, but really you are getting free advertising. So only do it once!
To advertise on this,or any other site, you have to register with an Agency, or with something like Google Adword. You will see the legitimate adverts on the left hand side of the page.
So, as Petrarca has said, you may advertise,as a Posting, once! Do it twice, and you will be gagged.

This only applies to goods or services with a money charge. Anything offered "free" is not advertising in the commercial sense.

So if I reply to someone in their thread about my tarot readings I'm breaking the rues then? If I delete my thread can I still have the information on my bio too or shold I just delete the thread?

If you are answering an enquiry, do it by private message. What you have on your bio is okay, because it is only viewed by members who want to view it:not on view to all members, as is a thread!
You have to be careful. Not only are there "rules" about advertising, there are Laws! Especially Tax Laws!

It is some years since I worked at an advertising Agency but I can assure you,the Laws are mind-boggling!
Your advert is obviously not a Scam. But you must still be careful. A lot depends on the wording.
If you say,"I have a car for sale". No problem.
If you say, "I have cars for sale." The Inland Revenue will descend on you like a ton of bricks!

Petrarca said:

"You are allowed a total of ONE thread regarding your service/site/whatever. "

-------------------

Does a one thread mean one post? Or does it mean one thread?

I am confused because Brysing said that you are not allowed to provide information (re:equiry) in the thread.

As per the law aspect. It is no different than if you have a garage sale. If you use your name you don't need a business license, from my understandings. Also, each country is different.

You are allowed one thread. If you answer a query on the same thread; that's okay. But you cannot start a new thread!
You will often see a member advertise on many threads, on different subjects. These are usually Scams, and are immediately gagged.
