Spirits work through deals. You do such and such for me and I'll do this and that for you. We all have our natural talents, strengths and weaknesses.
But why would you think there is a 'bounty"?
We don't group spirits for nothing. Many times when you anger or please a spirit (angel, daemon, nature spirit, etc) you gain the hate or favor of those like them. So if you did something against a spirit, they could have just let their friends know

that's a little delusional to think that there is a currency for the spirits. in all my workings with them, i have yet to deal with a currency of spirits. currency is for us mortal, earth bidden people.i agree with white rav3n, "You do such and such for me and I'll do this and that for you. We all have our natural talents, strengths and weakness" this is the only thing i think they care about. oh that and moving on, but really if there ticked at you i doubt they would put a hit. they aren't the mob.
think of the spirits economy as one based on bartering, with (energy) being the most valuable good.
spirits like favors, and while some them have access to elements or contracts that grants them energy, they do not produce Energy on their own, so they would also want energy.
and there are some rare stuff in the spirit world ... for example, if you kill a demon, try to gather it's ashes, it will be really small amount, but it is considered something like gems in the spirit world.
also, spirits may want to get closer to other strong spirits, let's say you angered a certain demon lord, you might see some lesser demons try to hunt you to win his favor.
and finally, knowledge, like knowing some spells that will make the spirit more valuable and thus have higher chance of being contacted by a human or a higher spirit, or knowing some places where he can gather power, or people who are easy to possess etc....
I base my information on personal experiences, and tho I am not experienced, I do not follow any certain path to coerce my judgement.
