I was wondering, when you perform a simple candle spell, do you have to wait for the candle to go out on its own for the spell to be complete, or can you exstinguish the flam yourself? All help welcome, thankyou :)
From what i have learned.. as soon as the candle goes out the magick is done.. so even if a wind blows on it out of an open window and it goes out your good.
It really depends on the spell. Some spells need the candle to burn out completely in one sitting, some only need it lit for the duration of time it takes you to do other things, like repeat a chant. Still others are to be preformed over several nights where you need to snuff the candles and relight it. And then there is candle scrying that can be done by watching the flame and seeing images in it or by watching the wax drip and seeing what you see form from it. Either of these may need a full candle or just until you get the information you need.
There is an old idea that if you need your candle to burn competently for your spell and something happens to the candle before it should go out (i.e. wind, rain, or it just goes out with no clear reason) then this is a sign of an incomplete spell. It could be that as you were casting your spell other magic was blocking it. This magic could come from anywhere including the ideas that the gods are just telling you no. If this happens meditate on the situation to help you figure it out.
When extingushing a candle use a snuffer. Or if you don't own one, wet your forefinger and thumb and extingush it.
You shouldn't blow it out with your breath, as it blows away the magick you've raised.
WARNING: be VERY careful with love spells. In my "vast" experience, they generally backfire and cause alot of problems for the caster, and all involved.
Peace~

It depends on the spell if it complete let the candle burn completely out if not, put the candle out with a candle snuffer
so you can burn it on other days. Never blow out a candle on a spell or work that is ongoing as this disrupts the continuous flow
of energy that carries out the spell.
