I am new to the site and would like to know how to read a rider tarot deck that I have currently purchased. I would like someone to help me and if possible for who ever will help me to send me a reply via mail
Barbara Moore writes fabulous books about tarot, from reading tarot to different spreads. If you have the budget (and like the deck!). She created a very informative book for the Steam Punk tarot deck with descriptions and meanings for every card. There are different ways to read the interpret the cards based to the surrounding cards and Barbara Moore explains all this for you.
I forgot to mention that you the steam punk tarot deck can be brought with the Barbara Moore book at a pack which is available on Amazon. It's very good value for money (I would've paid the price they were asking just for the book !) ;)
I would definitely recommend journaling, as described in a previous post. I would also suggest pulling a "card of the day" for yourself. Think of what the card means to you. Be mindful of this card throughout the day, and jot down anything that happens which you find significant. Record these findings in your journal. This exercise can help you synthesize down to earth applications for what the card means to you.
Example: I draw the seven of cups card. In general, it is about having many options, some good, some bad. As a cups card it is grounded in emotion. I have drawn this card several times whenever I am having a day at work where I am scattered and daydreaming rather than doing what I need to. So for me, when I see this card for myself, I know it is usually telling me that I need to get my head out of the clouds and get my act together if I want to get anything accomplished.
There are many books/websites with card meanings, most based on the Rider-Waite deck. One good site that is pretty comprehensive (and free!) is:
