Light the candle and petition the deities you wish to work with. Explain your problem carefully, and then take up the cord. Tie nine knots in this order as you say the following:

    1-----6-----4-----7-----3-----8-----5-----9-----2

"By knot of one the spell’s begun."

"By knot of two my words are true."

"By knot of three it comes to be."

"By knot of four, stop slandering me."

"By knot of five, the spells alive."

"By knot of six, my problem is fixed."

"By knot of seven the answer’s given."

"By knot of eight I meld with fate."

"By knot of nine peace is mine."

Arrange the knotted cord around the bottom of candle holder. Thank the deities for the help they will give you, and let the candle burn itself out.

Take the cord and the remaining wax and bury it where it will not be disturbed.
