Personally I will always perform a cleanse using the energy of "fire" as to me its like "taking a shower but for energy" kind of thing after I do any amount of baneful magic, the same goes for my home after I cast the spell (the baneful spell), I have just realized though, is this even needed every time? I mean I understand that residual energy is a thing that can accumulate following the release of energy when performing spell casting. I of course have an overkill level of protection and other defensive magics etc, but could I create a spelled object or a spell itself to always keep the space /home free of "negative energy" so I could still perform baneful magic when I need to but save myself the time of doing a cleanse (while I'm home I mean) not saying I would never cleanse myself as I do know how to do that , its just can things easier for myself or is this not a thing?
I was taught that, yes, one should. It's like a nuclear plant worker decontaminating gear and person after exposure to radiation.One can do things the secure way or the convenient way. The overlap between the two is spotty.
I agree. If you are working with negative intents, energies, and emotions then you are bringing those things into your space and you want to clean them out after.
One does not walk through the house in muddy boots then expect the floors to remain clean.
You have to consider your path and what energies you wish to keep.
You can absolutely nuke your home frequently, but consider that there are energies that will avoid "nuked" spaces that aren't negative per say- which I why I say do it with consideration of your beliefs and path.
For example: My tribe has a belief that we don't "nuke" all energy unless absolutely necessary because it can accidentally banish ancestral spirits, guides, and energies meant to be there for you as a person. We also don't believe in the standard positive vs. negative energies, we believe in cleansing malicious, mal intent energies, but otherwise not disturbing the natural energy pathways on our communities and homes.
So the real questions to ask yourself are, what energies do you intend to keep? Does this align with your practice? How would it hurt or improve your practice?
