Reality shifting is a tricky subject to discuss because it can get confusing for people new to witchcraft. [not saying don't try it if you're new, just saying it's like traveling to the past and showing them a smart phone. You should understand maigck on the physical plane before the multiverse of reality] I'm going to stress by saying magick on the physical plane does not contradict nature. You will not physically teleport from the physical plane to Atlantis or the quantum realm. Reality shifting and all dimensional magick are real things [see the Dr. Strange scene where Ancient One sends his astral flying through the multiverse. That can happen with astral projection]
There are many types of magickal practices, but the thing one has to realize before messing with reality shifting is the limitations of the physical plane. Not being grounded in reality can lead to spiritual psychosis. This is the biggest danger with reality shifting and these more elevated forms of magick [not saying it's more powerful, it involves more tapping into spiritual energy and less using the natural energy of your natural, physical plane, which can get intense] Focusing on a lot of spiritual expansion too fast and utilizing techniques you're not ready for, can overwhelm your brain and cause psychosis [this is why new witches are warned not to focus on just opening their third eye. When energy pools in it, it can cause hallucinations. Energy in our body can effect our physical]
Personally, I don't believe in reality shifting. Not that it doesn't work, I believe it's another name for manifestation/law of attraction [create a reality where you have it all] which is real, and I use. I also use the fantasy realm to manifest my goals [imagine yourself in X amount of years. This elevates your energy to attract this to you. You will have to work for your goal, but you are living that energy because you charged yourself with that energy] These can be considered forms of reality shifting [just without the "visualize yourself entering another reality" meditation which sounds a lot like astral projection to me] With that said, I'm not saying you shouldn't believe in it. If it works for you, a rose by any other name, you know? I'm just saying know the difference between making an energetic shift to change reality, and physically transporting your physical to another reality. [also, with this shifting the energy on another plane to alter reality, you need to put in the effort on the physical. You imagine a reality where you get up and do yoga? Get up and do yoga. That's how the habit is formed. The spells help you achieve your goal faster]
Another thing reality shifting reminds me of is the Akashic Records. Those are real. They're books which contain all of your divine information. They exist in a realm that isn't bound by time. You could use the records to pinpoint a trauma and instantly heal it, thus instantly elevated your present self. Again, as someone who has spent the past several months doing deep spiritual work, including everything mentioned above, [funny enough, I began my work around the time this was originally posted lol] you need to be grounded [energetically, but also in your body. Know yourself and check in often] have a support system [friends, family, therapist if you have mental health issues or buried trauma] and know when to rest. You might get a bunch of amazing experiences one right after the other, but if you rush toward the finish line, it can lead to [again] psychosis.
