How do you make a wand?

I'd really like a wand, and I'm not going to pay $50+ for an "official" one, so how can I make my own easily?

A wand can be created from a piece of wood that has been found. They can be as simple as a plain stick, or highly decorative depending on what you want from a wand. Many people will work with a particulartype of wood or tree, connecting with the energy of the tree before taking a piece of wood after asking, or finding a fallen piece and decorating it, or not as you see fit.

As Hearthwitch said many use wood/ dry decent branches for wands making, and some do take wood type into account.

Wood is not the only material that can be used. My last wands were small crystal points, that were not too expensive.

If you like certain stones or have interest in the metaphysical properties of crystals, small crystal points, can be a great way to add spiritual properties you may have interest in into your wand.

Personally for my wand I am currently using one of my favorite materials for a purpose of a wand. I use a twig from a specific plant.
