Hello! I had a quick question and hopefully someone might be able to assist me. I’m new to witchcraft and I’d like to start learning spells. Of course I’d love to jump right into love spells but I think it would be best to work my way up because I know that powerful spells can backfire. Does anyone have any suggestions for some beginner spells and where I can find out how to do them? Thank you!
You should first learn to understand magic and how to use it, before you try casting a spell. Without that knowledge, it's not wont to backfire, so much as just not work at all. You should look through the pinned posts in the General Info section of the forums.
I recommend first reading a couple of books before trying to get into any spell.
I recommend Israel Regardie's books. He has some pretty good stuff in there.
And, don't do love spells. Most people that do love spells (I speak from self-experience) either have no results or backfire hard and they find themselves unable to find any sort of partner for a long time.
As stated before, starting with the basics is going to be the key in developing your foundation. If you want any spell or ritual to have any substance or power (energy) you will need to know how to manifest it, direct it and ground yourself properly. I would avoid all love spells. I have never seen one happen without negative consequence. They are, in my opinion, nothing but trouble. But don't be discouraged. There are a plethora of other types of spells you can consider to have similar results or bend things in the direction you want, such as an attraction or glamour spell, a sweetening or honey jar spell and a variety of other spells that can open doors and paths towards building a meaningful relationship without altering someones will or intentions which is what love spells do. This is why they usually result in sad and often hurtful results.
Something important to remember about love spells is that they won't actually make someone fall in love with you. They can create the atmosphere where love might develop, but if you don't also do all of the hard work of building a relationship the spell will eventually fade and die and you'll be in a worse situation than you were before because the target of your spell may well be put off by your manipulation.
