Much like with any wand, a selenite wand is used for channeling and directing energy, good for use in circle castings and spellwork.

I actually own a selenite wand myself. It's a wonderful director of energy, and I've had some lovely success with it during my Crystal healing seasons. It's what I mainly use it for, however, I'm sure you could find other ways to put it to good use as well.

I also own a selenite wand, and I find its energy to be healing and at the same time being able to remove blockages and negative inclusions imprinted on my energetic field. You can either meditate with it placed on your heart chakra or pass it through and around your aura.

Most people count selenite into the group of the moon stones/crystal as its name is even derived from the name of the moon goddess Selene. The mineral itself as all types of gypsum contains water. It is deposited in places where there were minerals present like calcium, sulfur in water. When the water evaporated while interacting with lava and other geothermal vents and springs, the process resulted in the production of different gypsum minerals including selenite. It is direct product of the interactions between fire and water. Additionally, we know that sulfur is an element very much present in geothermal processes. Both sulfur and calcium were originally formed after the supernova explosions of massive near by star, which blasted them hundreds thousands light years away in the space and cosmos. Thus, selenite both has the healing properties of water and the purifying/cleansing/expelling properties of its opposite element fire(plasma).

Unfortunately, it tends to be brittle mineral. You have to be careful with it and due to its origin it dissolves in water as well. Must be kept away from water. I tend to use salt and sand to cleanse it. As gypsum crystals are both related to salt flats and sands containing a lot of salt.
