I have been informed that posting links in chatter is only allowedby moderators, and for good reason. In case there are links to malicious websites shared here. but as far as i know we all have been doing this for a very long time. This is the first i have heard of it.
though the forum does not have a clear set of rules that i know of? i was informed by a moderator that chatter rules are applicable in the forum, though posting links is not explicitly stated in the chatter rules as unallowable. This rule is common knowledge, so to speak. But nowhere is the rules for the forum recorded.
i was informed also that it is in the terms of use. And that it states''You agree to use spellsofmagic.com Communities (including Message Boards) in accordance with the following Community Rules.''
though again the rules are never mentioned and are quite vague.
So my suggestion is official, general forum rules to clear up any confusion.
And I must also apologize as I was incorrect in one thing that I said to you. Only Mods can post links in Chatter. But anyone can post a link in the Forums. I don't know where my brain was when I said that last night.
Do also remember that the Chat rules apply in the Forums https://www.spellsofmagic.com/chat_rules.html That includes thinks such as stretching, text speak, posting other than in English, profanity, role-playing etc.
Ah, a very nice thread thanks for the both of you for making it, It is kind of a little hard to know whats correct and wrong to post and say....
But thanks, Also I have to add that putting your phone number or email in your bio ( or giving it out in general ) here is also a no no ( at least I believe so,)
Enigmawolf, you are correct. Putting personal information such as an address, phone number, personal e-mail, etc is not only a violation of site rules but it puts you at risk from the sorts of predators who like to hang out on message boards.
