*Tea recipe of the week*

I'm keeping it simple this week with a tea that will calm your spirits and rejuvenate the mind.

Chamomile Mint Tea is great for relaxing an anxiety ridden mind while also putting a sour stomach to rest. Since I live 60miles from a decent Herbal store, i use Teabag Chamomile in my tea. It's as simple as plucking a few mint leaves (I use two for every bag of Chamomile) and dropping both the bag and your teaball in the kettle at the same time. If you want stronger Chamomile, simply put the Chamomile in your cup and let the Mint steep in the boiling water for about ten minutes before pouring.
WARNING: While Chamomile is rather safe in small doses (AKA a couple cups a day), I discourage this tea if you are allergic to ragweed, daisies, marigolds, Celery or suffer from Eczema. If you are nursing or Pregnant, it's encouraged to refrain from
drinking Chamomile as well. Also, Chamomile contains small amounts of coumarin, a mild blood thinner. DON'T WORRY HOWEVER. This only applies if taken in MASSIVE amounts. (AKA don't drink 50 cups in one sitting) If you are on any herbal supplements, research any possible reactions before consuming large amounts of Chamomile.
As for the Mint, if you have Acid reflux or a Hiatal Hernia, I don't recommend this tea. If you have liver damage or gull stones, use and drink with caution.

Cinnamon/Sage Tea.

I'm sure I've done this kind of tea in the past. However, I haven't been creating these recipes with the "magically inclined" in mind, so I thought I'D do some better research before updating my tea recipes.

First of all. Cinnamon has many health/magical benefits. The leaves of the cinnamon tree were actually used to decorate temples back in ancient roman times and Egyptians used Cinnamon oil during the mummification process. The herb itself can raise spiritual vibrations, aid healing and stimulate psychic connections. As for Health benefits, Cinnamon, Cassia Cinnamon to be precise, may aid in the lowering of ones blood sugar. This is great for diabetics. Please keep in mind that too much Cinnamon in ones diet can cause problems with the liver, and since the health benefits of this herb aren't seen as scientific fact, it isn't encouraged for children or pregnant women to consume this tea.

Sage is a plant of wisdom and mental vitality. It is carried to promote wisdom and the leaves, when dried, are often used in money spells. Wearing a small horn filled with sage will guard you against evil. Oddly enough, it is considered BAD LUCK to plant sage in your garden. If you want to grow sage, a stranger or outside source must plant it for you. Secondly, make sure your sage is sharing a plot with another plant, as iT can also bring ill luck if it has its own bed. As for health benefits, Sage is great for digestive issues such as loss of appetite, gastritis, and bloating. It has also been known to lessen the effects of hot flashes brought on by menopause. HOWEVER, like all things, moderation is key. Sage contains thujone, which can cause seizers and problems with the nervous system if taken in massive amounts (a cup or two of sage tea every so often isn't going to hurt you) Also, this chemical CAN CAUSE MISCARIAGES in pregnant women. Please do not consume sage of any kind when pregnant. As always, make sure you do your own research and/or ask your doctor/friendly neighborhood herbalist before concocting tea that you haven't tried before.

It might sound like Cinnamon Sage tea is a death sentence, but, as I said, if consumed in moderation, you will be fine. Both herbs help with blood sugar and have great magical effects on ones third eye. In order to make this tea, take HALF a stick of cinnamon. If you have a mortar and pestle, pound it down so that it's more manageable. (Not too fine, we don't want it slipping through the net of your teaball). Take three small sage leaves to every half stick of Cinnamon. This is for 3 CUPS of tea, adjust as necessary. Keep in mind that, if you put in too much sage, it can make the tea very syrupy and goopy. So, if you don't want THICK tea, don't use too much sage. Once your kettle comes to a boil, pop your tea ball in for ten minutes, or until the water is the same color as the cinnamon. If you want stronger tea, leave in longer. For added health and magical benefits, serve with Lime and Honey, or just drink plain

It's been a bit since i have posted (New job and all that jazz) so I wanted to post a simple Cinnamon tea recipie for anyone following my forum page. I know I use Cinnamon alot, but it's such an amazing herb that I just can't help myself.

A very simple tea you can make for strong spiritual vibrations is Cinnamon tea. Cinnamon is cheep to buy, and if you don't have a tea kettle, you can drop a stick in a pot of water and let it simmer until the water is brown and the cinnamon stick has partially unraveled. Cinnamon promotes a great spiritual resonance, and a cup of cinnamon tea should help you if you want to prepare yourself spiritually. A small teaspoon of honey in your tea will also help.

Lemongrass Mint Tea

Lemon grass is a powerful psychic agent and when taken in small amounts, can increase you psychic properties and ward off vengeful spirits. Take three Mint leaves a small bit of Lemongrass. (Don't put in too much, as the Lemongrass has an earthy taste that will overpower the mint if too much is used). This usually works in a three cup tea pot. Put them in your teaball and poor in the boiling water. Let them sit for about ten minutes. Feel free to serve with either honey, lime or sugar. Or, drink it plain. As always, do your own research before consuming new herbs, as too much of anything is never good for you. But it you want a tea that calms your soul, revitalizes your mood and wards off bad karma, this may just work for you.

Time for a personal question for all of my page followers: Name a really good Alchemy book I can use to better enhance my herbal teas. I need some suggestions so I can get back into the swing of things.

It's been a while since I've updated my recipes but I finally have the time to do it.

This is an old Hispanic recipes my mother's husband often uses when he is ill. I used it with my husband last time he was sick and his fever broke within 24hours of drinking it.

What you need:

1 Stick of Cinnamon

1 Tablespoon of honey

1/2 of a lime

PLEASE NOTE: This is an herbal remedy that is to be used WITH any other medication proscribed by your family physician. It's to help the healing process.

Get out a pot or your kettle and put in 2 cups of water. Drop the Cinnamon stick in. Watch that the water doesn't boil away. The tea will be done when the water is a faint brown and the Cinnamon stick has unrolled slightly. After, stir in a tablespoon of Honey and Squeeze a half a lime's worth of juice in. DRINK HOT.

Along with the magickal elements of Protection that all three of these spices bring, all promote healthy memory and will help to hone your "third eye".

HOWEVER, as always, drink in moderation. This tea may not taste good to everyone, as some people may be put off by the mix of flavors, but if you have a cold that just wont quit or need a remedy to aid meditation, this is the drink for you.

Hey! I'm not sure if this is the right pace to post, but recently I've been making my own teas out of rose petals, raspberry leaves, and rose hips!
I'll add some links with the benefits of these three things!

General rose tea: http://www.stylecraze.com/articles/wonderful-health-benefits-of-rose-tea/#gref

Raspberry leaf: https://wellnessmama.com/5107/raspberry-leaf-herb-profile/
and
http://simplyhealthyhome.com/raspberry-leaf-tea/

(warning for pregnancy mentions in the raspberry links)

I'm also using honey that I've places some dry violets and rose petals in, I also asked Aphrodite to work with me as I use it but that's pretty personal!
I drink this is whatever amount of each herb I see fit at the time to lift my mood/get me into a more dreamy/romantic mood!

I got a playlist started for tea crafting and chrysanthemum tea. You ever used chrysanthemums before?
