If anyone knows about sea witchery and such like things that sea hags would do certain magic things for sailors like sell knots and if you untied one its said to calm down the winds etc
Anything interesting like that, because there is hardly any sources on it even on the internet except for a good few websites.
When searching for a thematic concept, it's easiest to forget calling it "Sea Witchery" because what we know of history is that there wasn't a water-based craft actually called Witchcraft. It's easiest to separate research like such;
Personal understanding, attributions, and development; the more creative side.
Articles of folk practices by region and honoring their original context; more historical.
Especially when searching by region, it's good to learn the terms for what you want in the language of the region you're looking into. Of course there won't be literal translations, but you could find terms that help open up your research to works in the original language; for example, magical practice and religion were called the same thing in Basque Country, which was Sorginkeria.
I've been on hiatus, and as I'm sure some of you may know, I haven't been active in the coven for a few months now. I've ended a four year relationship in January and have since moved on with a guy who's so much like me, it's ridiculously amazing.
So much so, he's very interested in spirituality. He's very into Norse paganism and often worships Odin and practices readings with runes. With that in mind, I was wondering if someone could teach me more on Norse mythology and any related religions or maybe point me to a reliable source where I could learn more on my own. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)
