Old Practices of magic and the new century.

I am new to the site so I hope my thread is in the right place.

My question for today is: How does the old practices of magic and spells affect our lifes of the 20th century.

Like cause and effect could be none, work little, or be as great as it was intended. The point to what I'm saying I have made my own as well as others, if you update it to be more modern it should have little to do with it. Its how much you believe in it working. Example I was sitting at a blackjack table, with the money I had in front of me I could maybe go 3 hands. Being that I don't do spells that much I couldn't remember any off hand, so I started chanting to myself something that sounded good and believed in what I was saying with each hand. Now some could argue that it was all luck or as I would like to think it was a riddle and my focus. Again it doesn't always work too.

By "old spells", I'm assuming you are referring to the documentation of old folk practices. While we do not use the healing charms of the past, we can still relate to their experiences. Honestly, we all have the same problems of the past. Love problems, protection, money, just trying to get the upper hand in life is a theme probably known through out civilization.

We use spells everyday since the dark ages.

Old or new. The spells are the same from ancient times.

There is a spell for every use.

I've been shown in magic that timing has some bidding with these things. This where I have often second guessed myself. Like there is the law of three and then there is a long list of other factors like good and evil, living and dead. I mean it can be so confusing. I hope that at some point I will feel comfortable enough to actually use what I know constructively. Spells are ritual wishes, and are as old as Mankind. Ancient people would paint or carve animal images on cave walls to help with hunting; that is a type of spell.
