Astral is not the same thing with imagination.I won't put this two terms together or compare them.

the race known as the dragon actually might be real,we just haven't seen it in a while. there are still numerous places to hide out in the wilderness. even the world hasn't been fully explored, just mapped by satellite

Dragons might have been Real, some time ago. Many cultures have stories about dragons (or dragon like creatures) even though these cultures lived in the other sides of the world. But who knows? And I believe, that people will at least create dragons at some point. You know, people do what they can do, no matter where it'll lead to. Scientists are now actually working on the reborn of the neandertalic folk (or whatever they were). From what I've heard at least. So, maybe we'll someday have dragons.

if we are talking about physical dragons who fly and kidnap maidens to be saved by knights no.

if you mean astral dragons from a parallel plane that are more like spirits, yes, provided you believe in the astral however.

dragons are a belief, but they are not physically real until actual evidence is found. maybe they were alive during the time of the dinosaurs, but they would be long gone now.

Not true! There are indeed fossils of dinosaurs, but in no way do they resemble dragons.Dragons do not exist, and they have never existed.

A dragon actually being some sort of species of dinosaur sounds a lot more believable to me. Maybe this particular dinosaur looked a lot like a dragon? Maybe it even had some dragon like traits, and as do all good stories over time, were exaggerated into more than they were.

I have actually always loved dinosaurs, and looking at their bones at museums. It would have been very fascinating to see one of these creatures in real life.

There is a very plausible theory that the mythos of the dragon came about because early peoples stumbled on the bones of dinosaurs and created the concept of the dragon to explain these huge bones that belonged to no animal they actually knew. But that doesn't mean that dragons were actually dinosaurs or that they existed at all. They remain a myth that might have been developed as a way of explaining something that early peoples had no knowledge of.

In Christian mythos the dragon is thought to represent the powers of Satan. Hence the legends of St. George killing a dragon. In that case it is an allegory where the dragon represents something else. St. George killing the dragon represents the power of good conquering evil.

As to the idea that they might exist somewhere on earth where we haven't found them yet...well that doesn't make sense. With all of the air traffic radar in place over the earth these days something the size of a modern airliner would have quickly been seen and tracked. Possibly even intercepted and shot down if it flew into restricted airspace.

Physical dragons, whether of the Eastern or the Western types, are not and have never been real creatures. But they remain an entertaining myth.

some people do theorize dragons were around during the time of dinosaurs, but if you look at the skeletal structure of a European Dragon, it doesn't seem plausible [for one thing people argue the bone density yo enable flight] another theory is they were real but were all killed and astral dragons are their spirits [rather DragonHeart in nature imo] and as Lark mentioned, some think dragons were the result of people trying to explain dinosaur fossils.

i do love dragon myths, and while i do believe in astral dragons, physical dragons are not real. [but i do love the mythology behind them]
