Gargoyles

@ Chaos Actually they are astral beings, or so I'm told.

Personally no, but I have studdied them from a mythological standpoint [and as a fan of the 90's series] but I've never come across one. An old covenmate of mine claimed one day when she was communicating with some fae they suddenly scattered and when she meditated she found a gargoyle watching from the roof. Don't know if its true, but that's all I got. I suppose they're similar to dragons in a way; astral beings who could be asked for help/protection.

In the Medieval era, gargoyles were used to symbol the demon that comes in the middle of the night and sucks out your soul. It's a reason many cathedrals had them (because not many could read) and certain people created visual sculptures of gargoyles to give a visual to those who could not read.

So, perhaps meeting a gargoyle isn't very good. But I haven't before so I wouldn't know :)

In the astral plane I have noticed that gargoyles are not always evil demons but violent enforcers. They're sort of like a police.
It depends on what it said to you on what it is. From what I've seen they're like enforcers of all of creation. It's kinda hard to explain but it's basically like if you violate the balance of the universe or "offend creation". Don't think of them like angels because even if you have a nature of good intentions or your very chaotic that's not how it works. To simply put it their laws are not based on morality.

Lindcash is right! They are gutters. Nothing else. They are carved stone,usually.

I haven't ever encountered one but I have heard that they are protector or guardian spirits, with decent power

How an entity looks in the astral plane could mean anything though. The astral plane doesn't have the same rules as the physical so visual appearances aren't always relevant to what it actually is. Visual appearances on the astral plane are just a visual presentation of how it sees it's self.
