If your friend is talking about vampires like in BtVS then no. They are not real. Psychic vampires are real and it is a learned or natural occurring ability. Some religions speak of stages where people do go through a vampiric stage, but openly admit that they are still mere humans. If you want to learn my friend, i suggest you trying to find out yourself so as to form your own oppinions. :) try googling real vampire(s) or vampire reality. Thats a start.

You say physical/blood drinking vampires don't exist. To an extent they do. As I said before, there is a religion in which blood drinking vampirism is a common practice. It is however deep within the religion, but still common to any one who will open their eyes and ears to study and listen (respectively).

Yes they are 'real' but NOT as the things in movies or books. Vampyres are creatures that have been 'possessed' by a spirit that feels it needs blood. No they are NOT immortal, no they are NOT nice things, They are nasty things that merely follow the will of the creature inside. Once this 'thing' is sated it leaves the body and moves on. Usually its the homeless person that it possess' as they already have weak minds and no one notices if a homeless person is missing when they feed. Should it possess a 'normal' person that person then does NOT remember what happened but feels strange and 'sick' as the blood makes you sick and you've lost some days. I do not think they are real. If they were, would not, by this time in history, we have proof?
