Which spells work?

This question comes up constantly, to the point that it could be an emote of it's own.

Bottom line...if you have not learned the basic skills necessary to cast, you shouldn't be worrying about spells anyway.

One key basic skill to casting is correspondences. If you don't understand these, then you can't tell if a spell is garbage or not most of the time.

Great post Stoney. Any seasoned experienced practitioner would agree. If you don't understand how a spell is cast, how correspondences for the different aspects of a spell can effect the casting, or if you lack the patience required to study and practice then stop asking if a spell is real or not.

Those who will tell you different are full of it and themselves. These people are inexperienced and have no idea how to cast a spell or other magical working. They also usually claim unrealistic feats, e.g. magic not having limits.

Those who are serious about learning the craft need to; research, cross reference, study, practice and most importantly use common sense.

its not only learning the basics that will help in knowing if a spell is fake or not. So much of it is common sense. If a spell sounds to good to be true than it its. We cannot break the bounds of reality. So no flying, no teleporting, no changing into a vamp, lycan, mermaid, demon, ect. We are all human. Hate to burst anyone's bubble there.
