you can certainly call for the wind,
or influence the weather.

Having had many maritime lifetimes,
I've had much practice in wind-calling.

vikings would stab a knife into the mast,
indicating the direction they would like the wind to come from.

In this lifetime I did wind-magic when the only black clothing I had was a fleece jacket that I wore in summer,
so naturally I'd get very hot,
and would call the wind to cool me.

Also while driving I laughed at a thunder storm,
which I drove through just fine,
but later girl-friend told me,
that some light poles fell down,
and several cars got into collisions.

Anyhow I've decided to stick to sailing,
already signed up for this years sailing season.

we spellsofmagic.com have a whole section on wind-spells

To think anyone has control of any part of nature is just silly. If anyone is in control it is our Mother.

It may just be me, but is wind not always around us? I do not understand why people 'create' spells or rituals for summoning what is already there?

The wind is always going to blow, sometimes harder than others, saying words is not going to give it strength, or direction. Many people may find that the wind is already starting to pick up before they say their words.

It might be possible to have a minor effect on the weather but there is no one that can control it. I have is the past said the rhythm rain, rain go away, come again another day while it was raining and then the rain stopped after a short time had passed. I don't think I controlled the weather but perhaps my thoughts (or prayer) was taken into consideration. The other thing I have done is called the wind while I meditated. I simply wanted to feel a light breeze on me as I sat in the sun. Sure enough within a few minutes I felt the breeze. Did I control the weather? Not at all. I simple influenced my surroundings. Now some might say it was just a coincidence however I don't see it that way.

I agree greatly with kts.

Well as for me, one user here thought me to "communicate" with the wind, I can somehow influence it through that... but I'm the person who believes in the existence of the Elemental Spirits so who knows if the one I'm communicating is already one of the Sylphs etc.

All I did was establish a connection to the element/elemental spirit so somehow influence it.

Lindajamide, you cannot control the rain; you may think you can, but old Mother Earth will soon tell you that she is the boss, in no uncertain terms. You'd better believe it! And remember, that you can only hurt people by magic if they believe that you can.

Controlling the universe? Saving the planet? A bit arrogant of us, dont you think? Here take a look at this video, its one of my favourites. Makes you laugh, makes you think

Hope, pray, cast, chant, draw, or think an element towards change is one thing. But not one person on this entire planet can "Control" the elements. And pure coincidence is not proof that you succeeded.

I have a lot of metal in my ankles, along with it comes severe arthritis. I am more sensitive to barometric pressure changes, which would suggest the coming of precipitation. Can I tell it when to fall? Nope, I'm not quite that delusional into thinking I could. ;)
