You won't die from drinking blood. Your body may try to resist it, which means you'll throw it up. It's also possible to contract diseases from blood. Some people can't handle the pH in blood but only if they have a disease or a disorder that causes the immune system to be weaker than normal. But for the most part, you can drink blood.
Heani I doubt if Galen is suggesting that he drinks blood. In fact I think he's mortified at the idea of it and believes people would die if they did.
Medically speaking, there are many things in blood that can affect you if you drink it. There are red blood cells (rbc) is one of those things. Now what is the first thing that happens when you drink something, anything, whisky perhaps? It goes straight your stomach. Your stomach is not built to digest blood, largely because of the RBCs. Once your body detects them in your stomach, it thinks that there is some sort of internal bleeding. So in all likelihood the first thing that will happen to you is that you will throw up.
The second thing that is in someones blood is what you would call someones immunity. They might not be sick, but, for example, if this person has had strep throat in the past it never leaves your body, so there is an 85% chance that you will get strep.
And God help those who drink blood of someone who's carrying HIV.
On saying that if you cut your finger and put in your mouth as a reflex, and end up drinking a bit of that blood, I promise you that you will not die :-)
Love and light... (Lots of it, light especially) LOL
Personally I think my own blood is yummy I think I might be half vampire because once my friend cut her finger and I graves he hand and started to drink her blood. She doesn't have any desiese and I didn't die or throw-up.
I didnt say blood taste bad. PReasure and saliva on scraps and scratches heal it. ITs in your system. (BY THE BY; I'm a girl...) I did over react and say you'll die. I understand my misake. And I cant spell, I am sorry about that. But I dont beilive in vampires. I do not intend to be rude. I only ask for that in return.
