Bright Blessings Everyone! With the comming of spring the leadership and members of Practical Witches are opening up our forums to the public so they can read and write on them for a short time to bring a new freshness to the pages and to be able to do some webworking with the other groups. I know there are other groups that have opened their pages before with great success. This is a great opportunity for growth and networking for everyone. I send this invitation out to everyone and also wish you spring blessings. We look forward to reading your thoughts.

If i may say so myself, Practical Witches is filled with very experienced practitioners from very diverse and varying areas of expertise. Now is a good time to post a new thread seeking feedback or advice from our coven members and from Spells of Magic as a whole. We are a pretty open-minded group who are not quick to judge.

Also feel free to dig deep into our forum - we have *years* worth of discussions, lessons, drama, and topics that are awaiting your comment.

See ya there!

Yes, Zurlin, come join us!!! You'd be a real asset to our group. We have several experienced hoodoo practitioners amongst our ranks.

So... i just scrolled through our entire forums - several years worth of threads - and i was amazed by the amount of lessons, spells, and advice contained therein. We could publish a book with all the information.

There's topics ranging from necromancy, energetic manipulation, spellwork, healing, love and money, astrology, psionics, hoodoo, dream interpretation, spirits and ghosts, fairies and mythical creatures, etc. We'll be bumping some of these threads up from time to time. If you find something of interest while you're browsing around, please do the same. We have a whole new group of active coven members and active members of the SoM site at large to give these old topics a fresh perspective.

LdyGry, many thanks for your kind words.

I will certainly join your coven. I've searched through it and there are so many things included in... It looks like you have a small (but not less worth) world inside a big world. I really appreciate that you discuss some important topics on a higher level, I haven't came by banal questions nor banal answers.

Could you tell me, what would be (my) obligations as a member, besides good manners :), appearing at least one time per day and so... Is there anything like "homework" that you do regularly or something similar?

Then, I've read on you main page some time ago that I have to explain how can I contribute the coven. Well, unfortunately, I can not... I am a newbe and still have little knowledge that could help the others. I would need years of reading and practicing to get at a half of the way where most of you are now... Am I still welcome? :)

P.S. Sorry, one more question that actually doesn't regard your coven, but forum settings... Is there a way to subscribe to the topics on which I write or who I simply want to take a look at from time to me? That way we would always know when there's something new written and we could replay immediately. Sometimes it's almost impossible to find some threads in this immense ocean of information...

Sorry for the length,

blessed be all.

Sorry for multi-posting, one more thing...

Will your spellbook still be private while the coven is open up?

Good questions! Sorry it took one of us so long to respond.

Many of the coven rules for Practical Witches (and almost all other covens on this site) are up on the coven's homepage. On that page you will also get the application questions needed to join the group. Our homepage is: http://www.spellsofmagic.com/coven.html?coven=299

You're right about the obligations: being a member in good-standing, following the site rules, and we also have activity requirements for the coven as well - like contributing a minimum of once a week by either talking in the coven chat, answering or asking questions in the coven's forum, posting lessons or spells, or preferably a combination of participation. Most covens on this site have similar guidelines too.

Here is a thread detailing Practical Witches' activity requirements:
http://www.spellsofmagic.com/read_post.html?post=204407

There is no homework, just various lessons included in our spellbook. Some of the lessons do have homework questions, and you can answer them in private, message the author of the lesson, or post a thread about it in the coven forum.

In the near future this website will be offering magic classes. I think a few of our coven members will probably end up teaching classes, and the teachers can control who they allow as students. I am considering teaching a few lessons, and i am considering opening up those lessons solely to our coven members. ShadoWalker and Aelwyn may do something similar, we'll see.

Beginners contribute by asking questions. We can't just be compromised solely of expereinced practitioners who only post lessons. We need people to ask questions, ask for advice, ask for lesson topics, share their experiences, share their frustrations and successes, etc. In this way everyone can contribue, even if they've never done a spell or ritual before.

There's no way to subscribe to forum topics unfortunately. You can mark forum threads as favorites, and then they're listed in your profile under Favorites. If you've recently commented on a forum thread, it will also be listed in your profile under History.

The Practical Witches spellbook will stay private. Whenever a member contributes a spell, lesson, or ritual to the book, they can choose then and there whether they want it to be public or private. I am pretty sure that almost all of our stuff is marked private and will probably stay that way. We have to keep some stuff coven-only ;)

Thank you LdyGry for such a detailed replay.

Now, everything's clear.
My personal opinion is that magic classes would be great step as this coven welcomes those who want to learn.

Regarding a spellbook, that was a bit silly question of mine. It's a unique face of the coven and it should stay private, otherwise, what would be the difference between being a member of the certain coven and not... :) It was just my curiosity to read the coven articles as fast as i could :)

Just reminding folks that Practical Witches' message board still remains open to the public, both to read and to post. Dig around if you're so inclined - there's a whole lot of wisdom collected there - and share your feedback and ask questions.
Kind thanks for your consideration.
