By now you probably had heard about the whole 2012 thing what do you think will happen if we get advanced enough to inhabit Mars, or other planets? Its also a given that the moon cycles are different and might even have different properties (energy wise) The phases of the earth's moon might seem less significant. What would you do if you were in this situation?

If we were on Mars the heavenly bodies would all be at different positions relative to you than they would be if you were on Earth. And they'll be in different relative positions to one another from your perspective.

Mars will never appear in our night sky. The earth might. What happens to earth-based pagan religion if a witch moves to mars?

The witch has no breathable atmosphere and dies OR immediately freezes thus ending the experiment xD

Witchcraft is possibly the most flexable spiritual path going. We will figure it out when the time comes I think personally I'd adapt and maybe since it's a different planet with a different makeup, find other types energies to tap into as well.

the cycles would all be different as would the energy.. and if we found.. we'd have to take into account the planets history, etc.. etc... It would be up to us to adapt our practices to fit...

I supose we wouldn't celebrate the wheel of the year as we do here on earth, but I'm sure that wherever we end up there will be beauty in nature and most probably cycles which aspects we will celebrate, even though it'll be very different.

Adapt and overcome as my we likes to say...

What about witchcraft in space?

I think astrology wont be change if we were on a different plant it is a reflection of what is, like a mirror in the sky. For example, you wouldn't have 'Mars aligning with Venus' or 'Mars passing through Aquarius' and such things...
Changing location won't change the reflection, only relocate it

Location doesn't change devotion

there is a pattern to the rise and fall of energy. The patterns of the stars reflect that, they don't cause it. Just like the cycle of the moon doesn't cause my menstrual cycle

I think the energy will still be there no matter where in the universe we are but the patterns might be different. I don't know. We'll have to wait and see

Dawn... lol And mars was just example number one. the next step is to look from farther away

Ok...Here Goes

If we went very very far away, we wouldn't see the zodiac at all. Would we still want to pay attention to what those stars are doing with a very powerful telescope?

If we were moderately far away, the heavenly bodies familiar to us would still be there, but look much different. How would interpretations change?

If we went somewhere close, like mars, the constellations would look the same, but really they would be very slightly different, because your point of view has changed a little. Would reading the stars change by that little amount? Would it change by that much more of a little amount if we next observed from saturn?

And it's not just astrology. Witchcraft is closely tied to the earth, right? Would a witch that went somewhere else then shift focus to those elements that are around them there?

Let me try it a little more direct. If your viewpoint is moderately far from the earth, the night sky will change. The scorpio constellation might look a little stretched from looking at it at a different angle. The signs of the zodiac might no longer crawl by at the same relative speed. Pisces might outrun taurus. Would events in your environment reflect that change? Could anyone predict what those chages would be? presuming science allowed it....is it really relevent?

The constellations are going to look more or less the same from Mars as they do from Earth. Remember they look the same no mater where we are in our orbit around the sun and the diameter of that orbit is bigger than the distance from here to Mars. It's the paths that the planets take through those constellations that will appear different. Some of them more so than others.

...Ok That's it I'm applying for space training and then joining NASA

let's say just for the heck of it that man did move to mars, I mean after all there is speculation that life existed on mars before, but wouldn't history just repeat itself? Wouldn't the aztecs just make a new prophecy that ends without a reason? wouldnt the planet just have another ice age? All of that was "based" on atrology too. The ice age happened when the sun didn't melt the polar ice caps and it caused earth to freeze over, didn't it?

So if we moved to mars, it wouldn't just affect witches and astrologers, it would change everything. How would we grow plants or food? what would we do for water? I'm not saying I don't think it could happen, I just think theres alot more factors to consider because astrology used to effect the planting season, didn't it?

In truth, I don't think magick is affected by anything, it is of human nature, there for it is possible without laws and such. ^_^

I'm sure witchraft wouldnt be very hard to practice in a completely man made environment.

I don't know about anyones else but I know that for me to be that far away from mother earth would be very upsetting .. but (and here comes my point ) .. We would only be away from mother earth NOT Nature.

Nature is all around us. the energies that bind us as one are in everything that is not man made including space and the stars. The space station or whatever would be just like my house with Nature working her natural magick just outside.

I'd just rather stay on this planet. I dunno if the humans will realize their unavoidable demise due to the unconsciously systematic decimation of Earth in time to rebuild their societies. Elsewhere.

Well, considering that we evolved on this planet, and are naturally attuned to a 24 hour day and such, how would we adapt at all, let alone adapt spiritually?

a different planet would have its own energy, but would it resonate with us? But I think I'll just stay here for now.

I would just triangulate the postions of the moons and planets from that point of singularity and then calculate the phases sextiles conjunctions and trines the same way astrologers do to find the consequent path of the geometrical effects of the different positions.

All consistant matter in the universe is associated with the all mother so mother nature is any where we rest our heads.
