Yu-Gi-Oh is an anime series and a card game. It has nothing to do with real magic or real psychic abilities. While such games sometimes contain a kernal of truth about magic, you cannot take them for fact. As you said in your profile, you sometimes have trouble telling fiction from reality. In this case, what you are asking about is fiction.

Specifically, the question is "How could one attain the ability to read minds or be able to see physical things that they otherwise couldn't?".

Actually he was asking about becoming a "psychic duelist" as in the category in the Yu-Gi-Oh game. Which is a fictional thing. He states that more clearly in his Profile.

I know plenty about Yu-Gi-Oh, but he isn't talking about the monster type "Psychic".

No you cant read other peoples minds or see through things to see whats on the other side or anything similar to that.

In regards to strategy that is something you can learn by watching people and seeing what they do most frequently and basing your actions according to their most likely move.
