I found a pdf of the book I will link below. I don't really understand why these particular gems are being associated with these gods so in an attempt to read the pdf to get a further explanation, the author had none. They provided no historical basis and did not elaborate on even from a personal perspective why they think said gods would like said stones. It's a little off putting to me when someone just spews a random gods name and throws in a random gem or herb without showing how they got from point A to point B.

Some of these representations seem possible but some seem questionable.

For instance, Apollo with his sun associations I can see linked to amber which ranges from yellows to oranges to reds. But why Sapphire? I would think sunstone, citrine, yellow topaz or other golden-colored stones would have been more likely.

The author of the reference given is not considered a particularly reliable one and as SilentSyren she gives no indication why these relationships are as she said. I suspect it is something that she made up to sell a book.

I believe in one's personal practice with the Deities with whom they work it would be perfectly possible and acceptable to decide on a gemstone to represent them. For instance, I work largely with Sekhmet whose color is red. For her I might use ruby or even Tiger's eye as a representation. However, I would also be sure if I said anything about this to another that this is my personal interpretation and not something which is universally accepted.

I and a Sekhmet "daughter" I know see Her with red jaspers and red tiger eye Lark, so it makes perfect sense to me. I know a few other "daughters" who associate Her with amber colors however.

Given Sekhmet's solar associations I would agree that amber or even golden colors could work as well. This is where that personal gnosis comes in.

We're not meaning to hijack this thread to applying only to Sekhmet; however, those who might like to find crystal and gemstone associations for the Deities they follow could take how we are finding associations for one specific Deity. Think about what colors, planets, etc the Deity is associated with then think about stones and crystals that align with those other associations. And don't forget to ask the Deity you work with whether the stone or crystal you choose is acceptable to them.
