Why can't we join more than one coven?

I think it may be a matter of dedication and individual coven value.

what if I join a coven and then discover it's not a good match?

If you join a coven and find it isn't the right one for you all you have to do is leave the group. All you have to do is to go to the Group page for your coven, and then under Membership, click on the "change status" tab. That will then give you an option of leaving the group.

How would one know when a good time to leave a coven woule be? I mean in relationships such as family, one learns to put up with just about anything before cutting someone off.

Not all covens work like a family and if you feel something isn't right, then you leave. If you simply don't want to be in a coven, then leave. If you want to stay, but are having issues with something, speak to the Priest/ess and Council members about it and see about resolving said issue. You don't have to feel obliged to stay within a coven if you don't want to, no matter what people say.

Your next step is figuring out which is the case for you and then acting upon that.

Several covens will accept people within multiple covens (actually I do not believe any covens currently have a rule against this). Some covens may require that you state your other account name and your other coven, some may simply not care. It depends on the coven. However, to be a member of more than one coven at a time, you will need to have more than one account at a time.

I don't personally have anything against being in multiple covens, though from experience, it is hard to juggle the time between them. If you log into one, log into the other for a little bit each day. Some people have a 'home coven' where they spend most of their time and while this is acceptable, it is important not to neglect another coven if you actually want to be in both or all.
