If you have your senses open to the spirit world, you can build an easier rapport with gnomes and dryads. Grounding & centering, health and wealth spells, retrocognition (knowledge of the past,) crystal programming, and protective magics can also be a specialty of an earth elementalist.

But really don't go only by that. I've seen an earth elementalist hold back rain-- you would think that it was a more air-and-water specialty, but I believe the "earthiness" was in the attitude: how she did it, and not so much the result, like what was being manipulated. Hope this helps.

actully aero he or she probly just have to a dang strong will. well technical earth is involved in a storm cloud. but its long and booring and geekish.

well as suggested above u could be friends with gnomes and such.however i would suggest concentrating on expanding ur senses. a earth mage can like sense something up to a mile away sposidly.
