I don't suggest using magic or casting spells merely because of boredom. Magic is literally manipulating something (energy) out of the norm, or at the least that's the underlying intention-- to change something.
All "magic" has a consequence of some sort, which is why many practitioners prefer to cast spells as little as possible or only when necessary.
I disagree and agree a bit there. Energy is here for our use, even if there is punishments to the things we send out in the world. I have taught variuos people on modern witchcraft...now answer me this why would we learn all this and not use it? There are rituals that can be cast to help, heal, and even learn the power and knowledge of this world. Meditation in genral is a grand example, you use energy in meditations to focus on the world around you. Now when you tell newbies not to cast they get lazy and dont cast at all, its simply no good to our cause.
An interesting thought you give here.
You think, that by me telling people not to cast spells just because they're bored in piano class will cause people to stop using magic all together as they'll get lazy... I find this opinion out of proportion and quite amusing.
If you find it necessary to cast spells just because you're bored that's your business. And if you need to cast spells as often as you get bored just so you have the motivation to cast at all, is your business.
But I'm pretty sure if people held more respect for how things naturally are instead of casting spells for cheap entertainment, that magic will not dissipate as you seem to believe.
Now, if you were trying to argue for the simple pleasure of arguing, I believe you got my point wrong. I'm not telling "newbies" not to cast spells, I'm telling them not to cast spells just because they're bored.
Thank you for the input though, I found it quite interesting,

I have to agree with Reverie. If one does spells out of boredom, then 1. They are not really interested in spell-work, just amusement. 2. The lack of effort put into a spell out of boredom most likely will end in backfire. 3. Learn your basics.
