I'm going to quote parts of two threads.

"Anyone who comes on here lying about their lives by claiming to be vampires or lycans are role players. Anyone who comes on here claiming to be a mermaid is probably a role player. The people who type as if they are writing a book(for example; (Tony walked into the room and sat on a couch then said, ''Hi everyone, how you doing?'') as a thread post) are role playing although my main problem is with the people who start lying to make things more interesting." -Moriondae

"Seven Signs I look for that keep me from believing people when they claim to be anything other then Human:
1) Bad typing skills.
2) Poor grammar.
3) Idiotic claims of supremacy.
4) Entirely ''inhuman'' claim.
5) Anger over the slightest hint of disbelief from the audience.
6) A lack in knowledge of the creature/race/species/etc. that the speaker claims to be.
7) A desire to be different from Humanity and not at all normal." -Ragnorok(my old account).

To use either of the links listed you'll have to close the gap between the 2 and the 04402 at the end of Moriondae's link and the gap between the 1 and the 60882 at the end of my old account's link.

An ACTUAL roleplayer would be someone who writes small stories about their character to coincide with another's story, commonly in third person on a roleplay site, game, ect.

I think you completely misunderstood me, but before I explain myself I'll also add that I have a completely different theory about those "gods" then most of the people here. I don't share that theory publicly because I understand it might insult some Pagans and I only have as much proof of my theory as they have of their beliefs. Suffice to say this Hesiod holds as much truth to me as the Christian Bible may hold for the majority of Wiccans or Pagans here.

When "other races" were mentioned I was referring to the "immortal" vampire and the "shape shifting beast-like" werewolf. Both exist, but neither are immortal and neither are beast like. In fact, both are human. Vampires are simply humans that need an external energy source in addition to food and water while werewolves/lycans are humans with a kinship to wolves on a spiritual level. However the roleplayers would say that the vampires are undead or otherwise not really alive and thus can't die while the werewolves are their own separate race entirely, both ideas are wrong.

Regardless, if somebody would claim to be the son of Hercules would you believe him?

I'll go out on a limb here and openly say that I do believe in being not entirely human. It's a confusing theory, but in short: I believe that the expression of Being is both the soul and the shell. A ball filled with dirt and a ball filled with air: they are both still balls but they have different weights, masses, uses, and experiences/existences because of what is on the insides.

I do believe in other planes of existence and I believe that each plane contains its own array of beings/species. I believe that you can have the soul of some other being and incarnate in a human shell. Conversely, I also believe you can have a human soul and incarnate in a non-human shell. This is just my own theory and it is no more right or wrong than any other established theories. Overlapping this theory is my /other/ theory that the soul is specie-less and genderless, but that it becomes acclimated to incarnating in a certain form. But, I digress. This is a topic for another day, lol, forgive my tangent. *tucks her crazy back into her pocket*

Where this ties into roleplaying: I do not believe, for example, that if one has the soul of a wolf they are some tormented man-beast. When members are upset about the roleplaying on the site, it usually has to do with lack of knowledge about the being (as Ragnorok said), and (in my personal offense) complete ignorance of the limits of the physical plane. Only you know what you are inside, whether you are a toaster, a Klingon, a human, a vampire, whatever, BUT your body is physically human and thus you are bound by the physical plane when you choose to reside in it; such as when you are on this site.

Kikuyo, I've looked into such theories as mentioned in your second paragraph and believe the second theory to be true. The soul and the spirit are pure energy, how could a species become the spirit or soul? Many people have at some point incarnated as a non-human being, including myself, and since I was not at first a human I'm not sure if my soul/spirit would be called a human soul/spirit even though I have incarnated as a human more then anything else.

Divine yes, but if someone claimed to be the son of Hercules I would have to ask how old he is and what the world wars were like.
