To make sure that I will not sleep''
Be sure that your candle is large enough so that it will not burn down before you’re ready to go to sleep. If it does go out, then simply repeat the spell with another candle. If possible, do what you’re staying awake to do within your circle. If you must, you can carry the candle somewhere else and visualize your circle moving with you. When you are ready to go to sleep, put out the candle and say:

Wake up alert to greet the day''
Ground any extra energy, close your circle, and then go to sleep.

You should be able to fall asleep quickly and have a deep, restful sleep throughout the night. When you wake the next day, you will be refreshed and alert.

Breathe in deeply and as you exhale, snuff out the candle with your non-dominant hand. As the candle goes out, feel yourself drop suddenly to a deep, restful state (but be careful that you don’t immediately lose consciousness — make sure you get to your bed first!).

Any uplifting oils or oils to increase confidence, such as cedar, cinnamon, bergamot, basil, eucalyptus, rose geranium, juniper, lemon, orange, rosemary, or sandalwood
Paper and a pen
A flame-proof dish

Cast a circle. Prepare the candle by carving symbols and/or words that represent the self, strength, and confidence. Carve these all up and down the candle. You may also anoint it with oils, if desired. When anointing the candle, start from the top and bottom of the candle and move inwards toward the center, as you are aiming to draw something into yourself. Light the candle and sit before it, and take a few moments to visualize its light filling you. Write down the word confidence onto a small piece of paper. Hold it up and say:
"By this candle burning bright
And by this chant that I recite
I fill myself with strength and light
New confidence I now ignite"
Set the paper on fire with the candles flame and quickly put it into the flame-proof dish. Imagine yourself as a strong and confident person. Picture yourself in a variety of situations being self-assured and confident. Assert and affirm the change in yourself. You may choose to recite or write down a worded affirmation, such as:
"Im confident and strong and free, just the way that I should be."
End your ritual and snuff out the candle, and then put it in a safe place. Afterwards, whenever you feel you are lacking self-assurance, you can light the same candle and focus again on instilling yourself with confidence.

#1579 - Five-Knot Elemental Blessing
This spell will bless you

The first knot is tied to bless the heart. May friendship and love thrive, and may my emotions be happy and free as a rippling stream.
The second knot is tied to bless the will. May my drive and determination be strong to help me achieve my goals, and may my inner strength shine through like the bright flame of a candle.
The third knot is tied to bless the body. May I be in good health and be safe and secure, and have the steadiness and strength of the stones of the Earth.
The fourth knot is tied to bless the mind. May I be inspired and creative, able to express myself and my ideas. May my mind be fresh and clear as a fair breeze.
Then take the two ends on either side of the four knots. Tie them together twice to make a fifth knot, making a circle with five evenly spaced knots. As you tie it, say:
The fifth knot is tied to bless the soul. May I be spiritually fulfilled, connected to the Earth and Sky, and one with all. May I be as whole as the universe itself.
Arrange the string as a perfect (or as perfect as you can make it) circle on the piece of paper. Take the pen and draw lines connecting the knots to make a pentagram, starting and ending with the fifth knot. Fill the symbol with power as you draw it, and allow its power to fill you. For a few moments, meditate or breathe deeply while gazing at it. When you feel ready, close your circle and end your rite. You can leave the string-and-paper pentacle on your altar (or wherever you drew it) for the rest of the day/night (or longer), if you like. When you take it apart, you can bury the string or keep it as a charm. Burn or bury the paper or otherwise return it to the elements.
(The pronouns in the spoken words can be changed to have this blessing be for someone else. If you perform this blessing for someone else, I would suggest writing his or her name on the paper prior to knotting the cord or string, and then forming the pentacle underneath the name. As always, it’s best to perform a spell for someone else with his or her permission.)
