Optional: State your intention.

Pick up your instrument if you have one and start dancing within this space. Once you have finished dancing and connecting with the energies thank the Virgin Mary and the spirits in the reverse order and a counterclockwise fashion. Do not dismiss them. They will leave on their own. This is a ritual about connection, and nothing more. You do not need to make offerings, but you can if you want. The ritual dance and the raising of energies is enough of an offering for the spirits. They crave connection just as much as we do. Allow these moments to do just that. When you are done, blow out all of the candles and just go about your day.

On a piece of paper, write whatever mistakes you made in the last year. Were they sins? Was anyone hurt? What makes you feel bad about what you did?

Next, write what you will give up or devote yourself to for Lent.

Once you are done, fold the paper into the cauldron or other fire-safe area. Pray or meditate on what is written on the paper. How did you feel when you did these things? How can you do better?

Set the paper on fire and let it burn to ash.

Once it is completely burned, smudge the sign of the cross on your forehead and say to yourself "From dust I came and from dust I will return.”

"Hail Brothers and Sisters! We gather tonight on this December's eve to celebrate the winter Festival of Yule. It is the birth of the Divine Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. For Christ is the sun of righteousness, and in this long cold winter, the birth of Christ promises the return of the sun. It gives us hope and courage as we make plans of renewal in the warm months ahead. We stand together united in the spirit of the season, when hearts are light [with] the love of our Goddess and our God. The Wicca shows us ways by Three. We praise the Divine as the Holy Trinity. Three wicks are lit, and three thoughts have we. For Faith, Hope, and Love - So Mote It Be.
